Editorial Policy

French Bulldog Advice publishes free, research-based guides for French Bulldog owners. Because many of our articles touch on health, we hold them to a clear process. This page explains who writes them, where the information comes from, how it is checked and how we fix mistakes.

Who writes our guides

Our guides are written and edited by Alex Moreau, the pen name of the site’s founder and editor. Alex is not a veterinarian and does not own a French Bulldog, and we never present our articles as personal experience or veterinary advice. Our value is careful research: bringing together what veterinary organizations, teaching hospitals, breed clubs and published studies say, in plain language, with every source listed.

Where our information comes from

We build each article from sources we have actually opened and read, in roughly this order of preference:

We do not use content farms, product sellers or anonymous forums as sources. Every number in an article must come from a source listed at the end of that article. If a claim cannot be traced to a reliable source, we leave it out or word it clearly as general guidance.

How every article is checked

After an article is written, it goes through a separate fact-check before it is published. The fact-check reopens every cited source and compares each claim, figure and attribution against what the source actually says. Typical fixes include correcting a statistic’s comparison group, removing a claim a source does not support, and making sure advice matches our other articles. Only after this check is an article scheduled for publishing.

How we use AI tools

We use AI tools to help with research and drafting. They never replace the process above: every article is built from sources we have opened, checked claim by claim in a separate fact-check, and corrected whenever a reader or a newer source shows we got something wrong.

Photos and owner stories

In-article photos are licensed stock photos, credited to the photographer. They illustrate French Bulldogs in general and do not show the conditions described unless the caption says so. When we share an owner’s story or photo, it comes from a real owner who gave written permission.

Updates and the “Updated” date

We review articles when veterinary guidance changes, when a reader points out something unclear, and when we find a better source. The “Updated” date on an article changes only when its content actually changes.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please tell us through our Contact page with the article and what you think is wrong, ideally with a source. We check every report, and when a correction changes the meaning of advice, we fix it promptly.

Independence

Our recommendations are not for sale. We do not publish sponsored content presented as independent advice, and any affiliate links are disclosed as described in our Disclaimer.

Vet note: Our guides are general information, not a diagnosis. Your own vet, who can examine your dog and knows its history, is always the best person to advise on its health.
